Finding Joy in the Little Things

Finding Joy in the Little Things

hey girls  I’m Jess, and I guess this is Chapter 1: Blog Post ✨

First of all, fall is bittersweet for me, I lost my brother in November to suicide. It was the hardest part of my life, and I’m honestly crying writing this, but here’s the thing, it hurt, but I know that we all have these huge ugly hurts in life. I also know it is really easy to get caught up in the horrible of that, and spiral into never healing. So, this did start out clothes, yes, I love materials, textures, and what they can do for our self esteem, but this has become so much more, through God, through my brother, and through my girls that I have helped through some ugly hurts on live. Through all of this I have grown and overcome my own hurts in helping, healing, telling people about Jesus, and gently leading. When I lost my brother. I was looking for anything to help me understand. I didn’t want to walk away from Jesus, but I was so mad also. If you’ve been there, I’m sure you understand that. Also understand, that when you go through hard times? He’s with you, he knows your path, and this horrible ugly thing? It’s going to shape you into the person you become. God is going to use that, he is going to help you help others. Pay attention to that. Your path? It’s just beginning so please don’t give up. You are too precious for that.

Where the Leaves Whispered is our next Chapter, or maybe Current if you’re reading this a bit late… Or maybe this is 6 months from now, either way I still hope that whenever you find this chapter, it makes you think of the small beauties, the small joys, the little things that we don’t think of often. Life can get so busy, so overwhelming, and sometimes painful, that we don’t take a moment to breathe, to take in all God’s glory and and creation of this world. That it’s so easy to get caught up in life’s sadness that we forget to see the other things. This is your reminder to take a breath, to pay attention to the small joys, go take that walk, go look at the landscape, go breathe, hear the hush of the leaves under your feet, and I hope it beings you joy.
